A Rather Boring Saturday Afternoon

Aside from work, I did nothing much. Had lunch with Pearlene and dinner with a full table of aunties. A table seated with aunts equals a barrage of nosy personal questions. It's like a standard template interview. Do you have a boyfriend? When are we hearing wedding bells? Blah blah..yawn....

Anyhow, here's introducing one of my all time fave art piece by George Seurat. The master of pointillism. A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.

New SQ Seat Features

If there's anything good about the new SQ seat features, it has to be the in-seat power supply...no longer you need to fret when your laptop power supply runs out. Even the screens are larger..

Raccoons Galore!

Was out wandering during my last night in San Francisco and look what I chanced upon.... Hehe...Raccoons and many of them! First time in my life where I saw so many wild raccoons. Very cute.

I hate goodbyes

In our lives, we constantly deal with goodbyes. I come to a point whereby I have recognized this fact and have acknowledged that it’s part of life. I guess one has to accept that everything is transient and we should just make the best of the situation. Especially with the incessant traveling, one can’t avoid the inevitable goodbyes. The uncertainty of when and whether you will see the other person in the future coupled with all the good memories you had with the other makes it even harder to bade farewell. This farewell at the airport, like the many others that I have encountered over the past year, was depressing and tearful. In many sense, this was more significant as I have known Natalie since nine and have been really good friends since fourteen.

She has been such a gracious host, spending time with me every night and the whole of the weekend. Although I only spent a fleeting 6 day trip, it could never been better. Daily dinners with Natalie, occasional ones with her family, the clubbing night at San Francisco, shopping on Sunday and the trip to Carmel made my trip really fruitful.

This may seem mushy, but I really feel blessed and fortunate. I can never ask for any better with these true friendships and my loving family.

8th hole at Pebble Beach Golf Links

Many consider that this is the second best golf shot one can take in the world. Look at the magnificent surroundings.

Lone Cypress

Most photographed tree in the world and the icon of Pebble Beach and it has prevailed in its rocky perch for over 250 years.

17 Mile Drive

The 17 mile drive introduces magnificent and breathtaking sights. It is a gateway where beautiful coastlines and lush forests meet and it houses many luxurious, rich residential buildings.

The game of golf is at its worldwide best at Pebble Beach Golf Links and the spectacular neighboring courses within the Del Monte Forest. With its classic seaside holes, breathtaking beauty and famous heritage, it was the natural host for the 100th US Open Jack Nicklaus, a five time winner at Pebble Beach at the 1961

I greatly recommend this drive as it will leave you in awe.

Salty Soy Bean?

Much credit and thanks to Oliver, colleague whom I knew from the project. He spearheaded and carefully planned such a successful day trip that all of us enjoyed ourselves.

We started the day with a delightful brunch at this Taiwanese place. We had soy bean, salty soy bean (something which I am not customized even till now- see the picture above), noodles, and Taiwanese pancakes.

Everyday's an eating day

Some photos taken during meal times...enjoy! Oh..and I had the opportunity to celebrate Natalie's birthday this time round. We have not done this for more than 10 years. Very fortunate.

Freak Weather and Jet Lagged

As usual, after my flight to the US, I am awake in the wee hours of the morning. Not able to sleep as it's night time in Singapore. I gotta work, but I don't have the mood. So I'm just idling my time away. Browsing TV channels, surfing the net...pretty aimless nonsense.

US is experiencing some icy weather. Even in LA, it's freaking snowing! CNN reported that people in that area were taking photos, amazed by the sudden change in weather. Icicles are found in many citrus trees in Orange Grove, California. "It's estimated that 70% of the state's citrus crop has been ruined by the severe cold, and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has declared a state of emergency." - CNN

Hmm...time for breakfast. A long day ahead. Kambate Grace!

Off to San Jose again

Gotta pack my bags...piles of work to complete.

But I'm just excited to see Natalie again!!! =)

Like a bus ride

There has been a spate of resignation letters being submitted in my department. It really saddens me as I forged close friendships with many of these colleagues.

Well, I guess sometimes you just gotta recognise that people come and go in your life. Like a bus ride. Some people linger in the bus, others alight at the next stop.

My Bridge Friend

Dear Bridge Friend,

It was really nice seeing you for the fleeting day. It has been quite some time since I last saw you. Nevertheless, we still share a good friendship. But please....cut that shaggy hair.

Good luck and follow your dreams. Your travel stories are one of a kind.

Win big man! I'll see you one day to catch up.

A brand new year 2007

I have not been blogging recently. Too much activities during the Christmas and New Year Season - mainly due to Monty's visit to Singapore and my trip to Phuket.

Oh well, Sayonara 2006. It has been a fruitful year. The highlight was the hefty travelling. Countries covered include Spain (Cordoba, Seville, Granada, Malaga), Switzerland (St. Gallen, Zurich), UK (Gibralter Island), Germany (Hamburg), Indonesia (Bali), Thailand (Phuket), USA (San Francisco, San Jose), Malaysia (Penang), Taiwan (Kaohsiung), China (Shanghai). Hah..10 countries this year. I hope I can travel to more places....cover more areas...this year.

This year, I shan't have any new year's resolution. I pretty much fulfilled all of mine last year and I need a break. So this year.....take it easy.=)
